The magazine started out as a small, informal bulletin for the congregation, but it quickly gained popularity and was soon being distributed within the Russian-speaking communities in Haifa and beyond.
It became clear that there was a great need for Messianic teaching and news in Russian. Traditionally, Russian Christians of all denominations have had very little, if any, knowledge of the Jewish roots of their New Testament faith. We are seeing a growing interest in this kind of teaching in many Russian-speaking congregations. The vision of Oasis Media is: To provide sound Messianic teaching from Israel to Russian-speaking believers throughout the world, whether they are of Jewish or non-Jewish background. To draw Russian-speaking secular Jews closer to biblical spirituality.
Now, in the age of widespread internet usage, we have placed a greater emphasis on the internet version of Oasis, hence the new name Oasis Media. Our internet site, http://oasis-media.tv/, is dedicated to Messianic video teachings, whereas our http://oasis-magazine.com site concentrates more on written teachings and news articles in Russian. Since its establishment in January 2013, the media site has attracted roughly 15,000+ views per month

Ministry to Holocaust Survivors

"And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers." (Malachi 4:6)

In 2007 God opened a door for our congregation to serve Holocaust survivors. We now invite groups of 80 to 100 survivors to celebrate the Jewish feasts in the congregation. Generally, we arrange a festive banquet for them to enjoy during the major Jewish holidays. We have seen the openness of their hearts when we have shared God's word in the midst of fellowship, food and music!

Music School

We established the Rainbow of Sounds Music School in 2010 with only a few instruments and a vision to offer affordable, quality musical education to children from different backgrounds. In addition to the excellent benefits of musical training, we believe that many of the children we are teaching will make up the worship teams of tomorrow. In 2012 we started a new program to assist children from financially challenged families that cannot afford the monthly tuition fee of $130. We cannot expect pre-teens—with all their youthful energy—to stay at home and do nothing. They soon wander off to the streets. We strongly believe that a childhood interest in music will help them steer away from all sorts of anti-social behavior later in life. If you would like to sponsor music lessons for a child from a financially challenged background, please contact info@shaveitzion.org

Pilgrims Program

"Pilgrims" is a five- to seven-day study program for young adults in groups sized eight to eighteen. Its goal is to teach about the Jewish roots of the Christian faith, to increase understanding of Israel, and befriend local Messianic believers. The program can be conducted either in English or Russian. The program consists of three days of bible study (including a Shabbat meeting at Return to Zion Congregation) and one to two days of travel to biblical sites. It can also include one to two days of volunteering defined by the congregation. Accommodation is available in the air-conditioned guest rooms of our congregation. Haifa Theological Institute (HTI)

HTI was established in 2009 through a joint effort of five Messianic congregations in Haifa. HTI's vision is to strengthen the Russian-speaking Messianic body in Israel and to train future Messianic leaders. Since mid-July 2011, Return to Zion has taken more responsibility for running the institute. The majority of the students come from Russian-speaking Messianic congregations in the Greater Haifa area, and there are online students from Russia, Ukraine, Germany and the U.S. Each course attracts from 25 to 50 students - either leaders of Messianic congregations or prospective future leaders.
